A delegation from Pakistan has recently visited NUST MISIS to explore promising areas of collaboration. The two parties have identified common goals and scientific interests in the fields of new materials, additive manufacturing, quantum engineering, and biomedical engineering. Additionally, they have agreed to cooperate on educational programs and internship opportunities.
The guests have visited the laboratories of superconducting quantum technology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and biophysics. They have met with representatives from the Advanced engineering school “Materials Science, Additive and End-to-End Technologies” and have seen the equipment at the engineering center for rapid industrial prototyping of complex products “Kinetics”.
According to Dmitry Vasiliev, Director of International Affairs at MISIS University, Pakistani students most often choose to pursue master’s and postgraduate studies in the fields of computer science and computer engineering, as well as materials science and materials technology. This indicates their interest in NUST MISIS as a leading international scientific and research institution.
“This year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of applicants from Pakistan for our preparatory program. The demand for quality higher education in natural sciences is a sign of the country’s progress, and successful graduates will contribute to the development of high-tech industries. Our meeting today will undoubtedly give an extra boost to our cooperation with our colleagues”, said Dmitry Vasiliev.
According to preliminary agreements, at least 10 students from Pakistan are expected to enroll in NUST MISIS next year and will participate in short-term internships at the university’s laboratories in 2024 and 2025.
