MISIS University develops cooperation with Anhui province, China

A delegation from Anhui province, China, visited NUST MISIS to discuss potential partnership opportunities. Representatives from the regional Department of Education, Anhui University of Science and Technology, Anqing Normal University, and Anhui Normal University expressed interest in creating joint educational and research projects.

“We have had close ties with China for many years, and given the thriving relations between our countries, we are optimistic about continuing our collaboration. Our university excels in materials science, metallurgy, mining, and other fields in both education and research, and we welcome proposals for joint initiatives,” said Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at NUST MISIS Andrey Voronin.

Anhui is a leading innovator in China, boasting 125 higher education institutions. In terms of corporate investment in research and development, the region ranks 8th nationwide. Scientists there have made significant strides in quantum information, nuclear fusion, space exploration, and various advanced technologies.

“We see these meetings with Russian educators as an opportunity to fulfill agreements made by our national leaders, which is to maintain the spirit of eternal friendship, good neighborliness, comprehensive strategic cooperation, and mutual benefit. New industries are rapidly emerging, and we’re grateful for your willingness to collaborate,” said Qian Guilun, Director-General Department of Education of Anhui Province.

After the meeting, the Chinese delegation toured Laboratory “Superconducting metamaterials” at NUST MISIS, where a senior researcher Vladimir Chichkov briefed them on the university’s progress in quantum computing.
