NUST MISIS Innovations Win Three Medals at the Archimedes-2025 Invention Salon

Two gold medals and one silver medal were awarded to NUST MISIS researchers at the 28th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies, Archimedes-2025. This year’s exhibition featured over 500 inventions and innovative projects from 235 organizations across 35 regions of Russia and 26 countries.

A gold medal and a special prize in the Green Technologie category were awarded to the Method for Producing Perovskite-Based Photovoltaic Energy Converters, which led to the creation of Russia’s first full-scale solar panel made entirely from domestic materials and ready for industrial implementation. The technology stands out for its high efficiency in low-light conditions.

Another gold medal, along with the prestigious Nikola Tesla Gold Medal from the Belgrade Inventors Association, was presented for a neuroimplant designed for spinal cord regeneration. The first layer replaces spinal cord connective tissue, providing a structure for cell adhesion and growth. The second layer promotes targeted nerve tissue healing. Preclinical trials, conducted in collaboration with the Health Engineering consortium, confirmed that the development meets the necessary standards and is ready for medical application.

The silver medal, along with special awards from the World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA)—a trophy and a certificate—was granted for a robotic medical system and a manipulator for 3D bioprinting, designed for full-thickness skin defect repair. This bioprinting technology enabled the world’s first surgical operation using bioprinting on a human patient.

The Archimedes Salon is one of the largest events in the field of invention and innovation. It is held annually with the support of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Rospatent, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), and other organizations.
