A delegation from Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering (China) visited MISIS University. Colleagues discussed the prospects of joint bachelor’s degree programs, winter school and internships.
The parties have agreed on a three-year bachelor’s program in economics, software development, and computer science at Wuhan College, followed by two years at NUST MISIS. In addition to professional courses in China, students will study Russian in order to attend classes in Moscow in the future. Both universities aim to provide students with a high-quality education that will be valuable in the international arena.
Rector of Wuhan College, Jiang Xingpeng, expressed his appreciation for the educational model and research capabilities of NUST MISIS.
“In China, the college system is considered part of higher education, students study for 3 years and receive a bachelor’s degree. We see that interest in 3+2 programs in China is quite high, they are supported both by students themselves and at the level of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, which supports such international educational formats. We are at the very beginning of the journey, but both we and our guests have enough enthusiasm to make our plans a reality,” said Dmitry Vasiliev, Director of International Affairs at MISIS University.
An exchange program and a joint winter school in materials science, aimed at deepening the knowledge and skills of engineering students, will also be part of the cooperation. Already this year, MISIS University plans to host several students from Wuhan for internships in IT, robotics, and other fields. The duration of the internships will be between one and two months.
