NUST MISIS Wins 5 Medals at SIIF-2016

Inventions of NUST MISIS scientists received 5 medals at the Seoul International Invention Fair 2016, which was held from December 1st to 5th.

SIIF is the most prestigious exhibition and trade fair held in Asia. It is aimed at supporting the development of international markets` intellectual property and commercialization, as well as fostering connections between developers and investors.

More than 600 inventions from every field of science and technology and representing 31 countries were presented at the fair. Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, and Iran presented the largest national exhibits.

All 5 NUST MISIS inventions at SIIF-2016 won awards. “Heat-Resistant Polymeric Fiber and the Resulting Products” and “Endoscopic Device for Ballooning and Stenting of Intestinal Narrowing” were awarded gold medals. “The Cast-Iron Production Process for the Liquid-Phase Recovery of “Romelt” and “The All-season Hybrid Power Vertical Turbine” received silver medals. Finally, the “Sensor for Measuring Mechanical Stress” took home a bronze medal.

In addition, Olga Krivolapova was awarded a special prize by the Korean Women Inventors Association (KWIA) for her creative contribution to the development of the heat-resistant fabric from polymeric fibers.

Foreign legal protection of all the NUST MISIS inventions presented at the fair is officiated by Project 5-100.
