On May 17th, 2017, NUST MISIS hosted a meeting on Russian-Chinese scientific-technological cooperation in the fields of construction, renovation, and maintenance of transport infrastructure facilities.
From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by partners and management of the “Innovations in the Transport Industry” Association, including NUST MISIS, MIIT, MIPT, Rusnano, Rosatom, and others.
From the Chinese side, the meeting was attended by partners and management of the China Highway & Transportation Society, including transport administration, as well as major engineering, contracting, and scientific organizations of provinces and cities across China (Shaanxi, Wuhan, Chongqing Chuandong, etc).
The discussion focused on developing promising directions through bilateral cooperation in numerous spheres, from scientific & engineering developments, to educational programs and the harmonization of data standards. The creation of joint laboratories and information resources became one of the main objectives and topics of the meeting. Information on results of the creation of ecological additives for fuels and lubricants as well as self-healing, nanomodified materials for transport construction attracted special attention from the Chinese delegation. There are projects in this field already underway in China, Holland, and Turkey, however they lack the method of dispersing nanocarbon and microdispersed metallic modifiers in the fluid medium developed at NUST MISIS jointly with partners, a method which has proven to hold the best results and maintainability.
During the ensuing roundtable, the parties discussed the possibilities and potential experience that would stem from Russian-Chinese collaboration in innovative-technological projects (in particular, Li Fujian, President of the BAOLIRUS Investments Company, talked about the implementation of Chinese technologies for the modification of rubber-bitumen binding agents in Russia). The participants brought up a fair amount of topics, including the harmonization of a normative-technical construction base, renovation and maintenance of facilities relating to transport infrastructure, scientific-methodical and engineering features of the design and construction of facilities in areas with permafrost, and determining the subsequent preparation of proposals for the implementation of joint projects.
Following the meeting’s results, the Parties agreed on:
1. Signing the Agreement on cooperation between the “Innovations in the Transport Industry” Association and the China Highway & Transportation Society (in working order; promptly);
2. The formation of the joint projects, advanced & innovative technologies and materials, information services, and data banks according to normative-technical regulations (in working order; promptly).
Responsibility for information support of the subsequent interaction was assigned to Stanislav Mamulat, head of the Center for the Development of Corporate Collaboration at NUST MISIS (on the Russian side), and Liejun Yang (on the Chinese side).
