NUST MISIS has made a major breakthrough in QS World University Rankings 2015 rising by 50 positions.
“Only three Russian universities (NUST MISIS, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod and Voronezh State University) have demonstrated positive dynamics in frames of 701+ ”, said Zoya Zaitseva, QS Ltd. Regional Director of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
This result does demonstrate that the competitiveness for the leading positions in QS has risen and more than 200 universities are now competing for entering the list of world`s top universities.
“Our university is demonstrating the strengthening of its leading positions in all academic rankings, both Russian and international. It proves that the chosen strategy is right. The citation of academic papers of NUST MISIS professors and the increasing proportion of international students have the most significant impact on our progress”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.

This figure is more than the previous 2,8 times. The articles are included in the first quartile of the indicator Impact in the fields of materials science, metallurgy and physics.
In comparison with the previous figures the number of international students at NUST MISIS has increased almost 3 times. 16% of students are citizens of 52 different countries. According to this indicator the university gains the 317th position in the QS World University Ranking.
