#EdCrunch to Hold Pitching of Educational StartUps and Seminar for Young Entrepreneurs

On September 13th, 2016, the 3rd international conference #EdCrunch, held by NUST MISIS and the Rybakov Fund and supported by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, will feature the pitching of educational startups and mentoring sessions for young entrepreneurs.

#EdCrunch sessions are platforms that give opportunities to startups to present their projects to potential investors and to consult with experienced businessman and world leading experts in the field of education. The project is executed through the Rybakov Fund’s program on education and entrepreneurship development.

#EdCrunch mentor sessions are a series of individual consultations for young entrepreneurs during which heads of leading companies and educational projects will help startups get an expert opinion. Each participant will have a 30-minute mentoring session to tell about his/her project’s objectives and results, to ask questions and to get recommendations on the project`s development, market launch, promotion strategy, and how to attract investors.

The composition of mentors will give young entrepreneurs assessment of their projects from two sides — through the eyes of both educational leaders and business experts. Among them:

Anant Adarwal — CEO of EdX;

Martin Dougiamas— Founder and CEO of Moodle;

Hannes Klopper — CEO of Iversity;

Oskar Hartmann — Founder of KupiVIP and CarPrice;

Igor Rybakov — Co-founder of “technoNicol”, Founder of “Rybakov Fund”.

Boris Tkachenko, CEO of IBLF Russia and “Youth Business Russia”, and an international expert on mentoring, will be moderating the session.

All applicants wishing to participate in the pitching will be chosen through a competitive selection, which will be announced by September 5th. The composition of dozens of companies-finalists will be announced on September 8th and on September 13th they will be given an opportunity to deliver a 10-minute presentation on #EdCrunch pitching.

The selection committee includes: Oskar Harmann, the President of the Rybakov Fund, Dmitry Voloshin, Head of corporate academy, State Corporation Rostec, Alexander Vidiborsky, Senior Investment Analyst at RunaCapital, and Anton Derlyatka, Talent Equity Ventures Managing Partner.

The winner of the pitches will be announced on September 14th, on the #EdCrunch conference main stage, where he/she will receive a valuable prize.

“EdCrunch is an essential part of the Rybakov Fund education initiative. Together with our partners we create an ecosystem which cultivates people`s love of learning and self-development throughout life, fuels a desire to discover, and develops critical thinking, all in the context of increasing competition in the global economy. That is why we are always ready to support deserving projects in the field of education”, commented Igor Rybakov.
