NUST MISIS, at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation, participated in the Education & Careers Expo 2025 in Hong Kong, where it presented information about educational programs and opportunities for studying in Russia for foreign citizens.
The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Hong Kong, Anatoly Kargapolov, stated that with the rapid development of Russian-Chinese relations, there is a steady increase in interest in Russian education and the study of the Russian language as a foreign language in Hong Kong. The diplomat is confident that the active participation of Russian universities in such exhibitions will positively impact the strengthening of ties and the expansion of partnerships.
Andrey Voronin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at NUST MISIS, noted: “The university consistently implements an international educational policy, focusing on the markets of friendly Asian countries. We offer 12 English-taught master’s programs. For those who want to immerse themselves in Russian culture, there is a preparatory department where foreign students study the Russian language, academic speech style, and specialized subjects depending on their chosen program for a year.”
The admission of documents to the preparatory department for foreign students will begin on May 1, 2025.
“NUST MISIS is ready to offer prospective applicants the best education in many specialties. Currently, we have students from mainland China, and we have established strong academic ties with University of Science and Technology Beijing and other Chinese universities. There are no students from Hong Kong yet, which is why we are here,” explained Olga Kim, head of international education at MISIS University.
