NUST MISIS Included in the Group of Leaders of Project 5-100

NUST MISIS is one of Russia`s most dynamically developing scientific and educational centers, constantly attracting well-trained students, leading scientists and talented professors. During its participation in Project 5-100, the University has opened more than 30 research labs and 3 world-class engineering centers staffed by world-renowned scientists.

In 2018 alone, NUST MISIS has started a joint educational program with CERN on “The Prospective Technological, Methodical and Material Solutions for New Physical Effects Searches”, created the Big Data Research Center, and launched the NTI Center for Quantum Communication technology.

NUST MISIS also has shown growth in the QS and THE global rankings, strengthening its positions in multiple subject rankings. Today, the University is included in the THE, QS, ARWU and U.S. News subject rankings, and is 30^th in the world in the “Engineering-Mining” category and TOP-100 in “Engineering-Metallurgy”.

The Council of Project 5-100 is a permanent advisory body established to consider the development issues of Russia`s leading universities in order to increase their competitiveness among the world`s leading research and educational centers. The Council is chaired by Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Kotyukov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Andrei Volkov, the Vice-Chairmen of the Council and an Academic policy advisor for the SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management.

The Council consists of international and Russian representatives from the academic community, government officials responsible for educational reforms, and distinguished world experts and researchers specializing in higher education’s issues around the globe.
