#EdCrunch-2018: Data That Transform the World

NUST MISIS and the National Technology Initiative University (University of NTI) “20.35” are the co-organizers of #EdCrunch-2018, V Global conference on educational technologies, which will be held at the Moscow World Trade Center on October 1st and 2nd, 2018. #EdCrunch-2018 will attract over 5,000 participants and 30,000 online participants, and will host 15 subject areas, 50 international speakers, and 250 Russian speakers. The Conference’s organization is a part of the implementation of the “Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation” priority project.

This year’s #EdCrunch is the event’s 5th anniversary in Moscow. The main topic is “Data that transform”, and the conference will be devoted to modern research and practical solutions in the field of big data in education. Every angle of the issue will be discussed, from methods of collecting and analyzing educational statistics to the use of blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence in the educational process.

“Today, it`s possible to re-build any industry with the help of digital technologies. This also applies to the educational system, where management decisions can be made based on big data and students` educational trajectories can be built individually with the help of algorithms and mentors in the form of artificial intelligence. Our task is to learn how to do [those things]. The University of NTI ‘20.35’ educational intensive model was held in July on Russky Island. The event proved that an educational process when every student has their A.I. mentor selecting the most optimal learning path [for the student] based on their psychology, knowledge, motivation, and ability to work in a team, can become a model to train personnel for the digital economy. #EdCrunch-2018, which will attract world-leading experts, will become an important platform for discussing these and other new educational technologies, as well as being an excellent opportunity to learn from the field`s best representatives”, — said Dmitry Peskov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Digital and Technological Development.

“A wide range of modern tools to assess the methods and results of training is necessary in order to improve the quality of education. The existing technologies allow us to automate the process of big data collection and analysis. Persistent efforts are being put into creation of such technologies both in Russia and abroad. The research results in this field and the most advanced methods and the most successful practices will be presented at #EdCrunch-2018, the international conference in the field of new educational technologies”, — said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISIS.

In 2018, the University of NTI “20.35”- Russia`s first university professionally developing people for the digital economy — has joined the #EdCrunch team of organizers.

“Today, everyone has unlimited opportunities and at the same time needs constant self-improvement. To help people make conscious decisions about the choice of areas and methods of obtaining new skills and knowledge is NTI 20.35`s key task, and that can only be solved by constantly generalizing and analyzing the experience of thousands of people’s training. We are creating a platform that will accompany a person’s development throughout their life, keep a digital profile of their achievements, and look for opportunities specifically for them to gain the necessary skills, as well as recommend new activities and increase their comfort in a professional environment”, commented Vasily Tretyakov, General Director of University of NTI “20.35”.

#EdCrunch-2018’s guests will learn more during the specialized tracks, which cover more than 15 areas in the field of education, including: “Children and Technologies”, “Digital University”, “New Technologies and Analytics in Corporate Training”, and “EdCrunch Startups: Sales and Marketing”. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend the EdTech Alley, an exhibition of technologies and technological solutions in the educational sphere. More than 300 international and Russian speakers — world-renowned specialists in the fields of online learning, educational analytics, school and preschool pedagogy, corporate education, HR, and educational IT solutions — will give speeches during the event.

#EdCrunch-2018 is being held as part of the implementation of the “Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation” priority project. The 5th annual International Conference in the Field of New Educational Technologies, #EdCrunch-2018 will be held by NUST MISIS and the University of NTI “20.35” with the support of the Ministry of Science & Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Rybakov Fund, the HSE Institute of Education, Arizona State University, and the global edtech platform HolonIQ.
