On September 25th, 2017, the “Strategic Management on Mining Field Enterprises” MBA program, designed to train senior managers for the mining field, started at NUST MISIS. The program has become a joint project of the Interuniversity Educational Center, consisting of MGIMO University, NUST MISIS, and the Non-Commercial Partnership for Mining Industry Development Assistance.
On September 23rd, 2017, at the NUST MISIS Commune House, the opening ceremony of the new season of “University Saturdays” took place. A lecture on the most relevant blockchain-technologies was held for school students. Anastasiya Tyurina, Director of the Department for Blockchain-Technology Development at VEB, acted as guest speaker.
On September 13th, 2017, VisionHack, the first international hackathon on artificial intelligence and computer vision, concluded. This momentous event was organized by NUST MISIS and Cognitive Technologies under the support of State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)” and the Skolkovo Foundation. The top three winners included two teams from Lomonosov Moscow State University, while the third hailed from MIPT. Two teams from NUST MISIS, one team from Skoltech, one from Kazan Federal University, and one from Innopolis were included in the competition’s top 10. The final slot in the top 10 went to the team from UPC (Spain).
NUST MISIS has improved its positions in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking-2018, rising by 200 positions and entering the group of 601+.
A group of young engineers from NUST MISIS’s FabLab has presented the unique Addin script for Autodesk`s Fusion 360. This is a generator for an automated simulation and design of boxes with specified dimensions that can be manufactured using laser cutting or milling. The project idea took 1st place at the FORGE FOR UNIVERSITIES competition held during the Autodesk Hackathon festival.
