The United Dissertation Research Council has started its work on the implementation of NUST MISIS’s rights to award degrees independently. The previous Dissertation Research Council on the Higher Attestation Commission will continue its work until August 31st, 2018, and afterward will cease operations.
NUST MISIS and Vnesheconombank (VEB), with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), will hold an educational campaign called “Blockchain-credit”. The campaign will be a part of the cooperation agreement signed between NUST MISIS and ASI in the field of developing and promoting blockchain technologies.
As part of the cooperative expansion with Uzbekistan, NUST MISIS is opening a new branch of the university in Almalyk.
NUST MISIS conducts systematic work on the attraction and development of ambitious and motivated young people focusing on technical specialties. Hosting Olympiads for those students to test their abilities is part of the development cycle.
The #EdCrunch-Tomsk International Conference on New Educational Technologies will be held from May 30th, 2018 to June 1st, 2018 in “Russia`s student capital,” Tomsk State University. Around 1,000 participants and 127 Russian & international speakers are expected to take part in the conference, in addition to 10 presentations of new developments as part of the interactive #EdCrunch Park exhibition.
NUST MISIS has entered the TOP-15 of Russian universities in terms of salaries for graduates working in the field of IT, taking 14th place in a ranking compiled by the Superjob research center. The ranking factors all young professionals who’ve graduated from university in the past 5 years.
NUST MISIS has significantly improved its position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings, rising from 163rd to 99th. The University has shown excellent results despite increasing competition: in 2014, representatives of 20 different countries participated in the ranking, but in 2018 that number increased to 50.
