From September 11th- 13th in Moscow, NUST MISIS and Cognitive Technologies will hold the first university hackathon on artificial intelligence and computer vision with an available prize fund of more than $30,000. Teams from MIT (USA), the University of Cambridge (Great Britain), ASU (USA), the University of Science and Technology Beijing (P.R. China), UPC (Spain), and leading Russian universities have already announced their plans to participate in the hackathon.
From July 18th-21st, 2017, in Zhukovsky, and held with the support of Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017, NUST MISIS presented 30 scientific-technological developments for the aerospace industry, including a new type of combined power sources for launching aviation technologies under conditions of the Extreme North. On July 19th, NUST MISIS scientists held a roundtable dedicated to electricity storage for aerodrome equipment and aerial vehicles.

The results of Russia`s first national ranking “The Three Missions of Universities” were announced this Tuesday. This summer, the first 20 universities were presented without specific positions.
NUST MISIS and Vnesheconombank (VEB) will launch a Center of Competencies for New Materials and Breakthrough Technologies with a primary focus on blockchain, convergent (NBICS), and quantum technologies. The accumulation of knowledge about innovative technologies, the development of platforms for use in government organizations, and the training and popularization of those fields will be the Center`s main goals. This is the world`s first center with a combination of such competencies, and the main consumer of its services will likely be Russian state-owned companies and authorities.
